Kuwait Warns Strikers, Says Oil Shipping Normal
Workers at the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, a state-run oil company, have been striking since last month. The workers are asking for pay and benefit increases, but the country says that it cannot afford to increase the payroll of the workers. The strikers were joined on Monday by 3,000 customs officers in an open-ended walkout, which has stopped shipping and disrupted movement in and out of the country. The government says that it will keep the industry functioning, and that it will not consider the demands of the workers while they are on strike
