Workers at Honeywell's KC plant go on strike
After rejecting a contract offer on Sunday, machinists at the Honeywell plant in Kansas City have gone on strike. According to the International Association of Machinists, which represents the workers, the strike, which involves 840 workers, is an unfair labor practices strike. They say that the company is bargaining in bad faith, and that they will file charges with the National Labor Relations Board when it reopens after the Columbus Day holiday. The company says that it will contact a federal mediator to help resolve the dispute, and that it plans to continue meeting production. The previous contract was signed in 2008.
