Workers at a grain elevator in Kansas were killed in a grain elevator explosion in Kansas. Four of the six workers were under the age of 25, which experts say is typical, due to the danger and physical toll the work can take. The work does not require degrees, and pays more than many other jobs, so workers are still willing to take them. Over the past 40 years, explosions at grain elevators have killed more than 250 people and injured more than 1,000 others.
