California Proposes to Curtail Workers' Benefits
On Thursday, California Governor Brown announced his proposal to reform public sector pensions in his state. The plan would raise the age at which some workers retire, increase contributions from current workers, and change pensions for new workers. the Governor says that the changes will be more sustainable financially for the state. The overhaul needs approval from both the legislature and the public, and some parts of the plan may be modified or rejected.
