Chrysler workers narrowly OK deal after dramatic split in vote
After a week of voting, Chrysler workers have approved a new contract agreement between the UAW and the company. 54.8% of the 26,000 workers approved the contract, but 55% of skilled trades voted against the contract. The contract looks to add 2,100 new jobs, bringing the total number of added jobs in the contracts between the UAW and car companies up to 20,000. Both sides said that they were happy with the outcome of the bargaining, and that they were glad they did not need to go to arbitration.
