After four months of locking out its workers, American Crystal Sugar has begun advertising for workers. The lockout began in August after negotiations between the company and the union stalled. The company has been using temporary workers at its workers. The company says that they believe the lockout is going to continue, so they need to hire workers to be more efficient during the lockout. They also said that in the long-term they would look to replace all the workers if the lockout continues. locked out workers questioned the efficacy of the replacement workers, but the company said that they were fine.
