'Mass Suicide' protest at Apple manufacturer Foxconn factory
Around 150 workers at a Foxconn plant in China spent two days on the roof of a factory, threatening to commit suicide. The protest began after workers were moved to a new production line. Workers said they received no training, were not paid appropriately and that the working condition were very bad. The workers said that an initial strike did not yield any results, and so they threatened suicide. Foxconn manufacturers products for Apple and other technology companies.
