Federal mediator to meet this week with American, major unions
A meeting has been scheduled between American Airlines, federal mediators and the three major unions that represent its workers. The meeting will be the first since American Airline's parent company filed for bankruptcy in November. The three unions, the Allied Pilots Association, the Association of Professional Flight Attendants and the Transport Workers Union, will meet to discuss labor contracts, negotiations for which have been ongoing for over five years.
