City Opera Strikes Deal With Unions
The New York City Opera has reached tentative agreements with the two unions that represent the members of the chorus and the orchestra. The agreements, which need to be approved by the Opera board and the workers, have the potential to end the lockout that began on January 9. The agreements will keep the Opera on budget, and include a new labor-management committee. Performances are scheduled to begin in February.
