Day Care Centers Adapt to Round-the-Clock Demand
As more parents work longer hours and irregular shifts, some at more than one job, day care centers are adapting to meet their need. According to studies, around 40% of workers work some type of non-standard hours, a proportion that is expected to grow. Schedules are also less predictable. Day care centers say that overnight care is uncommon, but that more providers are expanding their hours into the evenings and weekends to meet the demand.
