Labor board chief says he'll push for changes giving unions a boost in organizing members
The chairman of the National Labor Relations Board, Mark Pearce, says that the Board will continue to propose rules that make union elections more efficient and reduce the time and money spent on them. Pearce says that he would like the Board, which currently has all five members due to recess appointments by the President, to consider rules that would require businesses to cooperate more fully during elections, as well as electronic filings and speeding up the time for some things. Any changes from the NLRB are expected to face widespread criticism from Republicans, who believe that the Board is overstepping its boundaries.
