Federal Funds to Train the Jobless Are Drying Up
With hiring picking up around the country, employers and workers are facing a new challenge as funds for training begin to disappear. While unemployment benefit extensions have made headlines, little attention has been given to money for training. Employers say that they have trouble finding workers with the necessary skills. The President's budget called for an extra $2.8 billion for training, but it is uncertain if that money will be in an approved budget.
