Many U.S. Workers Sleep-Deprived: CDC
According to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, many workers are not getting enough sleep at night. A study found that 41 million workers do not get the recommended amount of sleep, somewhere between seven and nine hours a night. Night-shift workers, and those who work more than 40 hours a week were the most likely to get too little sleep. Workers with too little sleep are less productive, and are greater risk for accidents and sickness. The CDC said that there are measures employers can take to help employees with sleep issues, including rotating shifts.
