Levi's, Gap garment workers in Cambodia on strike to demand pay increase
More than 5,000 workers at a Cambodian garment factory that produces for Levi's, Gap and others are on strike over pay and working conditions. The strike, which began 11 days ago, is over a increase in pay, housing and travel allowances, as well as better working conditions at the factory. The company says that the workers' demands are too much, and that the union is not willing to negotiate. Workers say that the factory does not obey Cambodian labor law, and requires workers to work against their will.
