Union head: Labor deal with track workers averts strike before Triple Crown bid at Belmont
Workers at the Belmont racetrack reached an agreement with the New York Racing Association, one that will ward off the possibility of a strike during the Belmont Stakes. The union says that workers will be there on Saturday in their normal positions. The NYRA said that they were pleased with the agreement, and happy to focus on the race. The major issues between the two groups, who worked with a mediator, stemmed from overtime and the structure of the work week.
