Norway oil unions agree not to escalate strike
Norwegian oil and gas workers have decided not to escalate their strike. Norwegian law prevents any escalation until four days after the decision is made. Workers are striking over a demand for wage increases, overtime pay and pension changes, which the company has refused to discuss. Workers estimate that about 18% of oil output has been shut down, as well as some gas output. The government said that they have no intention of intervening in the strike at the current time.
