American Airlines workers seek new contract talks
American Airlines' flight attendants and mechanics say that they want to resume negotiations with the company. The pilots' union is also considering whether to vote on an offer from the airline. The federal judge who will rule on whether the company can abandon its labor agreements postponed the decision until Friday to give unions and the airline more time to negotiate. The unions have asked American Airlines to consider a takeover by US Airways, which they say would lead to fewer cuts and layoffs. American Airlines filed for bankruptcy in November.
