Pressure Rises on Con Ed and Union to End Dispute
New York power company Consolidated Edison met with workers that it locked out more than two weeks ago over the weekend. The two sides said that they failed to reach an agreement on pension changes and health care benefits. Despite pressure from the public and elected officials to end the lockout, neither side was willing to give in negotiations. The company agreed to reinstate health care for workers. The company has been running using mangers and some replacement workers. Negotiations are scheduled to resume on Monday.
