Spanish workers block roads, rail in cuts protest
After the Spanish government announced plans for a new round of austerity measures, Spanish workers blocked streets and railways on Friday in protest. The workers say that the cuts hurt ordinary people, rather than those who can and deserve to pay. The $80 billion cuts are part of an effort to cut the Spanish deficit in order to meet conditions set by the European Union in return for loans.
