Ford Workers Approve Pact for Canada
Canadian Ford workers have approved a new four-year agreement with company. The union said that 82% of the workers who voted approved the contract. The contract includes wage cut for new hires and a pay freeze for current workers, but do not include a two-tier wage system like that in the United States. Ford says that the contract will save them money, and that they expect around 600 jobs to be added over the next four years. GM workers will vote on a similar agreement this week, while negotiations with Chrysler continue.
