Former Del Monte workers to get more severance pay
A 2007 decision by the Hawaii Labor Relations Board has been upheld by the state Supreme Court. The decision granted severance to former Del Monte workers after the Board found the company failed to bargain in good faith over its closing. The company had appealed the ruling to the Supreme Court. The Board awarded $700,000 in severance for about 500 workers, about $1,400 per worker.
