B.C. health care workers reach tentative contract deal
The Canadian Facilities Bargaining Association, which is made up of different healthcare unions says that it has reached a tentative agreement with provincial employers. The proposed two-year agreement comes after nine months of negotiations. Workers from eleven different unions voted to strike earlier this month if no agreement was reached. The agreement includes a 3% wage increase, no layoffs from contracting out and the same benefits. Workers will vote on the agreement in the next few weeks.
