Push Against Unions Flares In Michigan
After a ballot measure that would have put collective bargaining in the state constitution failed, Michigan lawmakers are trying to pass new right-to-work legislation. Several bills are expected to be introduced in the next week. The Governor of the state has said that such laws are divisive and that he is not pushing for the change. Opponents of right-to-work laws say that they end up lowering wages and standards for everyone, not just union workers. Twenty-three states currently have right-to-work legislation.
