American Crystal Sugar Lockout May End After 16 Hard Months
American Crystal Sugar workers, who have been locked out for 16 months, will vote again on a contract offer from the company. The 1,300 hundred workers have previously rejected the contract offer three times, saying that it will hurt their job security. Unemployment insurance for those who were eligible has run out, and many workers have had to take other jobs. The workers say that the company is not operating in good faith, while the company says that they need to cut costs. Workers say that they are not sure what will happen after the vote. The company has been running its plants with replacement workers.
