Unions could again be key to immigration reform
Politicians are seeking the support of unions to formulate a plan for immigration reform that everyone can support. Labor groups have opposed measures in the past that they thought could hurt their members. Union leaders say that they think they are on the same page as some legislators, but remain opposed to ideas such as temporary guest worker programs. Unions have indicated in the past that they would support plans to make attaining citizenship easier for immigrants.
