Yahoo Says New Policy Is Meant to Raise Morale
Yahoo is defending its decision to require employees to work from the office rather than its home, saying that they are attempting to create a better culture at the company. About 200 employees had home work arrangements. The company's decision has caused a national debate over the efficiency of working from home and the effect it has on both workers and companies. Opponents of the change say that those who work from home are often more efficient and that it allows flexibility for employees with family responsibilities. Others say that having a large number of employees who work from home does not encourage creativity and innovation. Best Buy has also announced that it will no longer allow employees to work from home.
