Appeals court upholds law blocking collection of school staff union dues
A federal appeals court has overturned a Michigan ruling halting the implementation of a law banning school districts from collecting union dues. The appeals court said that the law is constitutional, and does not violate free speech or equal protection rights. The union said that they were disappointed by the ruling and were considering an appeal. Business groups who support the law said that the court made the right decision, and that the law is a good thing for Michigan citizens.
