U.S. Added 165,000 Jobs in April
A new report from the Labor Department shows that the economy added 165,000 jobs in April, slightly more than had been forecast. The unemployment rate fell to 7.5%. Economists had predicted lower job growth as a result of governmental actions, including the expiration of the payroll tax and the sequestration. Government employment fell by 11,000.
