Employers See Obamacare Options For Part-Time Workers, COBRA Purchasers
A survey conducted by the National Business Group among large employers found that many respondents believe that part-time workers, early retirees and those on expensive COBRA plans might opt for healthcare coverage found on public exchanges. Employers believe that these groups, who historically have few choices in terms of benefits packages, could find the most cost effective options through the exchanges. Additionally, the survey found that only 12 percent of employers believe the exchanges will be a viable source of coverage for full time employees. The exchanges will be open for individuals to shop for plans beginning on October 1.
