French unions march in protests against pension reform
French unions launched a protest Tuesday opposing pension reforms proposed by the government. The protest was lead by the hard-left leaning CGT union and joined by several student groups. More moderately-reputed unions declined to take part in the protest, viewing the proposal as a mild change to the country?s ailing pension system. Unable to muster a wide range of support, Tuesday?s protest caused only slight disruption to public transportation across several locations.
