Education workers union could have its status revoked
Yesterday, the South Korean Ministry of Employment & Labor stated that the Korean Teachers and Education Workers? Union (KTU) would have its legal status revoked on October 23rd unless it removed dismissed teachers from its membership. The Ministry has been working with the KTU since May of this year and cites that the violation has been present for at least three years. The KTU has accused the Ministry of surprising them with the request. In response to the government threat, the union?s leaders will go on a hunger strike.
