GM reaches tentative agreement with Unifor Local 88
Over 2,500 union members at the GM plant in Ingersoll, Ontario will vote on a tentative agreement today at 3 P.M. The contract will be similar to those in GM?s other plants in Ontario, which were ratified in 2012, and similar to agreements the union reached with Ford and Chrysler. The GM contract would cut new hire hourly wages by about 14% and provide a signing bonus and yearly lump sum payments. GM is planning to invest $250 million in the plant.
