Federal Judge Rules Against Unions In Act 10 Case
Wisconsin?s Right-to-Work law prohibited the state?s unions representing public employees from forcing employees to join and/or financially support the unions. It also limited the scope and range of issues those unions can bargain over. The law, which was passed in March of 2011, was held constitutional by a Federal Judge yesterday. The judge ruled that the law was neither limiting free speech nor violating the employees? right to equal protection. Different parts of the law are being challenged in cases brought by other unions.
