Ryanair fined 9M (Euros) by French court over breach of labour laws
A French court has fined Ryanair more than 9 million Euros for breaching labor laws in Marseille. The airline is known for its extreme cost-cutting strategy and had been employing that strategy by hiring the French crew under the company?s Irish contracts. The crew had not been paying taxes in Marseille, even though they were based there, Ryanair CEO, Michael O?Leary, countered that the employees were ?mobile? and were in ?Irish territory? when on the aircraft. The company has a series of conflicts with the French government.
