None admit fault on troubled jobless benefits system
Unemployed residents of Massachusetts, some of whom have not been paid in over 2 months, may have a long wait for a properly working unemployment insurance system. The IT work on the online unemployment insurance system was done by the Deloitte consulting group and Massachusetts own Department of Labor and cost the state $46 million. Those who experienced issues with the system have not only not received their benefits, but also have spent hours on hold and often have been disconnected without having any resolution. The principle of the consulting team as well as the Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development both still claim that the system works. The state senate has a starkly different view stating that the new system ?delivered no value?.
