The labor action is a direct results of talks failed yesterday after management, through a mediator, let the union know that it was done negotiating for the day. The major sticking point for both sides was whether or not employees could move with departments that are moved off-campus. Management and labor agree on which exact offers which have been conveyed during the course of negotiations, but none of the organizations offers have been presented to the general membership. The hospital, in preparation for a potential strike, has hired approximately 200 temporary employees, however no exact numbers were provided.
