Port of Portland labor turmoil backs up cargo as big decision looms from Hanjin Shipping
Continued labor actions at the Port of Portland have led to delays, lost productivity, and tens of thousands of dollars in losses for businesses trying to operate through the port. The renewed conflict arises at a critical time when one of the port?s largest carriers, Hanjin Shipping Co., is getting ready to announce which U.S. Pacific port will receive its future business. Hanjin currently is using the Port of Portland, but recently its expectations for productivity have not been met.
