Amazon to hire 2,500 new workers across the US
Amazon has unveiled plans to add 2,500 more workers to its employee base of 117,300 employees. The 2,500 workers would all be hired as full-time and would mostly be used to staff fulfillment centers across the nation. The jobs will be available in Virginia, Kansas, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington. The news is significant because Amazon typically pays above the average for similar positions in the area local to its fulfillment centers and because Amazon usually hires individuals seasonally or part-time, but the announcement shows strong growth for full-time positions with the company.
