American Air flight attendants pact on union representation
Flight attendants at American Airlines Group, composed of US Airways and American Air, have agreed to change from being represented by the CWA to being represented by the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (AFPA). This change will help negotiations move faster with an agreement expected before the end of March in 2015. The combine flight attendants of both US Airways and American Air will file the plans to merge the unions in June with the National Mediation Board, now that a majority of employees represented by both unions agree with the move. The new union plans on meeting with management after about 60 days to present their opening proposal.
