Labor Protests Clog Seoul?s Streets
Approximately 40,000 people, many of them labor union members, gathered in protest in South Korea?s capital Seoul on Tuesday. The tens of thousands of protestors exceeded the size of other protests in recent memory. Tuesday marked the one-year anniversary of President Park Geun-hye taking office. At issue were 25 major issues the labor groups had with President Park?s tenure thus far, including a proposed fair trade agreement with China. The demonstration was so large that traffic throughout downtown Seoul was disrupted.
