Metropolitan Opera and Two Unions Reach a Tentative Deal
Representatives from the New York Metropolitan Opera and its orchestra and chorus unions have reached a tentative deal, ending the threat of a lockout and safeguarding the opening of the opera's new season. The agreement, announced early Monday morning, does not include the union representing stagehands and electricians. The agreement's terms have yet to be disclosed. That union has another day to reach an agreement, per the deadline set by the Met.
