Next month, 500,000 NHS staff represented by nine unions may begin a coordinated protest over the denial of a 1% salary increase. This denial came after the NHS Pay Review Board recommended a 1% increase for all NHS staff back in 2013. The union Unison is scheduled to decide today if its 300,000 union members will take action.
