On Wednesday, employees of Mermaid Marine represented by the Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) plan to go on strike over a lack consensus on a new enterprise agreement. The workers were facing an 8% wage cut in the newly proposed agreement. The Union also planned a 10-day strike this past July but never went through with it.
