No School Monday in Waukegan as Talks Resume in Teachers Strike
Today 17,000 children will not have school as teachers in the Waukegan District 60 return to bargain with the school board. The union claims that the district has 37 million surplus, however the board claims that the union?s wage demands could bankrupt the district. Teachers are asking for a 9 percent salary increase this year, and a 7 percent increase for 2015.
