Waukegan Teachers Strike After Contract Talks Break Down
Today 60 teachers went on strike in the Waukegan School District canceling classes for 17,000 students. This strike broke out after unsuccessful negotiations between teachers and the school board over benefits, working conditions and salaries. At this time no further negotiations have been scheduled, although the teachers maintain they would rather negotiate than strike.
