Greeks Go on Strike Over New Austerity Measures
On Thursday, thousands of workers in Greece staged a walkout protesting the intensifying austerity measures. The walkout lasted 24 hours canceling hundreds of flights and shutting down public services. Right now unemployment in Greece is at 24% and earnings have fallen by 1/3. The creditors are still deciding whether to extend Greece?s financial bailout.
