Judge Strikes Down Wage Boost for Some Home Workers
Recently, Federal Judge Richard Leon, struck down new legislation presented by the Department of Labor that would increase the minimum wage required for home care workers. The judge said that this new law conflicted with a previous law that made home care workers exempt from federal minimum wage laws. Agencies that provide home care also say this new law would make in-home care too expensive for some families.
