Brazil Threatens to Fine Truckers as Strike Squeezes Economy
Brazil currently faces its largest fuel and food shortage as truckers in the country enter their ninth day on strike. In seven states truckers are protesting and there are 97 roadblocks in place. The government has threatened to fine the strikers up to $3,470 an hour if they are found blocking a highway. The truckers are on strike over the high fuel prices.
