JFK Airport Baggage Handlers Strike Despite Sacking Threat
This morning, baggage handlers at New York's JFK airport went on strike over low wages, a poor working environment and little union representation. The workers, employed by Aviation Safeguards, received a letter several days ago informing them that they would be terminated if they spoke out or went on strike. The strike's organizers claim that only three of the twenty-seven Aviation Safeguard employees reported to work this morning.
