Over the past 10 months, railway workers in Germany have participated in eight strikes. These strikes have cost the railway companies approximately $500 million. Again on Monday, these railway workers walked off the job demanding a 5% pay increase. Transportation in Hamburg and Berlin have been affected by the strike.
